Undet for SketchUp - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Undet?
UNDET quickly visualizes point cloud views of any size in the SketchUp, Revit or AutoCAD environment, regardless of the 3D measurement equipment and photogrammetry software used: Faro, Trimble, Leica, Z+F, Reigl, Topcon, DOT Product, PIX4D, Autodesk Recap, Agisoft, RealityCapture, DroneDeploy, 3DF Zephyr…

Is the software standalone?
No, it works through Plugins or extensions. So it does not work with Revit light. You need a separate Undet version for each host software.

Which data formats can I import with Undet?
Supported point cloud formats: *.E57, *.FLS, *.RCP, *.PTX, *.ZFS,*.LAS, *.LAZ, *.PTS, *.DP, *.FPR, *.LSPROJ, *.FWS, *.CL3, *.CLR, *.RSP, ASCII / NEZ (X,Y,Z/i/RGB) and custom ASCII / TXT file format imports.

Is it a perpetual license?
No, you can buy Undet for a month, a year or three years.

Can I use my Undet for SketchUp license in Revit or AutoCAD?
No, you need Undet for Revit. Or for AutoCAD.

Can I work in Undet on multiple computers at the same time?
No, licenses are machine tied, you can transfer a license from one to another though or purchase more licenses.

Is there a network license available?
No, you need a license for each machine. However, there is a management portal for when you want to transfer licenses. https://activation.undet.com/

Is there a trial version available?
Yes, there is a trial versionavailable for 5 days.

How do I request a trial?
If the new user installs Undet for SketchUp for the first time, he will have 5 days free trial after plugin installation (no registration needed). After the trial ends, he will see the license manager, and we will be able to press “get activation” and will be redirected.

How does the license actually work?
To tie a license to a computer, you need two codes, a SITE code and a MID code. These can be found in SketchUp under [menu] Extensions > Undet > About. (In Revit, it's in the Undet tab, then About.) You need this information to tier the license to your system.

How can I manage my scan data?
With the free software UNDET Indexer you can convert the scan data into a UNDET project used with the Plugins. The data is indexed three to seven times faster than with Recap, for example.
