I have recently bought Rhinoceros v6. Am I entitled for a free upgrade?
No, unfortunately not. Licenses bought on or after November 10, 2020, are already Rhino version 7 licenses.
However, you can upgrade to Rhinoceros v7 at an extra advantageous price until March 10, 2021. See actual pricing.
Does Rhinoceros have new system requirements?
Yes, it has. In terms of software, the latest version supports the newer operating systems. Rhinoceros v7 works on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. On macOS version macOS 10.14.6 (Mojave), macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina) and macOS 11 (Big Sur) are supported.
Older versions than mentioned above as well as Linux, Windows Server and virtual environments (e.g. VMware, Remote Desktop, and Parallels) are not supported.
In terms of hardware, the recommended requirements are as follows:
- 64-Bit Intel / AMD processor *
- 8 GB RAM or more
- 4 GB video card or more - OpenGL 4.1+ (Windows) or AMD (macOS)
* Please note: the new Apple Silicon M1 Macs are not supported!
Does a Rhinoceros v7 license work on both Windows and macOS?
Yes, you don't need a separate license for this anymore.
From which version can I upgrade to Rhinoceros v7?
You can upgrade from any older version of Rhinoceros and the price is the same.
Do my plugins also work on version 7?
Yes, the current versions of the McNeel plugins Flamingo and Bongo work with Rhinoceros 7. V-Ray 5 for Rhino is also compatible with Rhinoceros v7.
