Solution:
Drag the borders of the Catalog window so that it gets fairly large on your screen. Also drag the slider below the preview images of the postcards to the right hand side so that they are at their largest. Now Postcards should work again!
This can occur when the Catalog window is at a small (default) size, as well as the preview images of the postcards.
