As you might know SketchUp Pro does a great job at quickly viewing a sun study in real time. Sketchy as SketchUp Pro does this in real TIME, beautifully ArtLantis Studio does this in real LIFE.
1. Animate the sun
With the help of the Heliodon setting box the motion of the sun can be easily simulated during a desired period.
2. Animate the color of the sky illumination
During a day the color of the light alters. With Artlantis Studio it's possible to define independent sequences for each color on the animation timeline.
3. Animate the background color
In our case the background is set as uniform color that also alters depending of the period of the day. It turns close to black during the night and it becomes almost white during the day. When shall these alterations appear, they all can be determined on the timeline.
4. Create the final rendering
The duration of the sequence, and the number of frames per second define a total number of images for the animation. All these parameters are editable for the user.
The file formats are the most popular ones: Windows Movie or Quick Time Movie with the suggested compression modes.
