Design = Innovation
When we at Design8 speak about design we speak about innovating: Design Innovation. We can not see the creation of something new without looking at its environment, to you. And without looking to the future. This holistic approach results in a product that fits both you and your customers like a glove.

We design products today for where your customers will be tomorrow. And we cannot do so without a close examination of your company, your customers, your competitors and all other relevant environments.

Design is not always innovation... The fashion industry is well known for its design. If you spend enough money, your money can buy you the most crazy and functional outfits. Fashion industry clearly designs, but do they Innovate?

Questions:

  • Can you wash all your clothes at the same temperature? No, you need 30, 60, 90 degree laundries.
  • Are you able to use only one laundry detergent? No, you need one for wool, for black, for colors, for white, ...
  • Wet clothes need to be dried, can you put all clothes in the dryer? No, many clothes will just shrink.
  • Dried cloths can't be worn, they need to be ironed first. Only to become wrinkeled again.
  • Can you clean e.g. oil stains in a colored shirt. No, you will have totally ruined it.
  • Can you wear your sweater backwards? No, you have to search for a very small label in order to know what side is front.

Now take our skin. It breathes, it dries, it self-cleans, it growths as we grow, it warms, it cools, it heals. Now that is innovation!
